ACEM Core FOCUS Modules
At the completion of emergency medicine training, ACEM trainees should be competent in the following Focused Ultrasound (FOCUS) modules, Focused Echocardiography in Life Support (FELS), Lung ultrasound, Abdominal aorta ultrasound (AAA), Extended Focused Abdominal Sonography in Trauma (EFAST), and Ultrasound guided needle procedures.
At Campbelltown Emergency Department, it is a requirement of all ACEM trainees, and IMGs in charge on nights, to be competent in these core FOCUS modules, and therefore engage in the credentialing process.
